       The church of the Evagelistria, of which only the southern section has survived from the Byzantine era.
Agios(Saint) Nikiolaos of Makariotissas, with the murals in the chancel and on both sides of the western church wall.
       The exterior facade of the Church of the Megas Theologos (Great Theologian) gives the impression that it is a single-aisled church. Its interior is adorned with 13th century murals.
        Other important churches include, Agios (Saint) Andreas, Agios (Saint) Savvas in Kyriotissa, Ypapanti, Panagia Faneromeni, Agios (Saint) Stefanos and Agios (Saint) Georgios of the archon Grammatikos.

         THE BEMA OF APOSTLE PAUL
     More recent monument, the Bema of Apostle Paul, reminds us of the place where the apostle preached to the Nations.
        In Imathia there are also a lot of Monasteries and Temples, which are exist since the first Christianic years. Many of these monasteries compose the Holy Cloister of Veria, the oldest cloister all over Greece. Until 19th century there were 50 monasteries and almost 2500 monks who decide with unanimity their revolution in 1822 against Ottomans and they destroyed.
Today revive only 6 of these monasteries.

                PANAGIA SOYMELA
      High up on the verdant Vermion stands the church where the miracle-working icon of the Virgin, is kept. Created by Luke the Evangelist, the icon draws thousands of devout Christians each year .

       THE MONASTERY OF TIMIOS PRODROMOS (JOHN THE BAPTIST)
            The monastery was founded in the 14th century. Great names of the monastic world contributed to its prosperity, namely Saint Grigorios Palamas and Saint Dionysios from Olympus.
           Two deserted Paleochristian churches were found south-west of the village Sfikia on the Pierian mountains. One church belongs to a distinct category of religious buildings (4th century) and the other dates from the 5th century.
          In Imathia there are also the Monastery of Agios Georgios Peristereotas in Podochori, the Byzantine church of Agii Anargyri at Nisi in Alexandria, the 17th century church of Agios Dimitrios in Palatitsia, the church of Timios Prodromos in Naoussa with murals dating from the 18th century, the monastery of Panagia Dovra and the church of Agios Anastasios at Kostochori in Veria, the Monastery of Agia Kyriaki at Loutro in Alexandria, the Monastery of Agios Athanassios Sfinitsis in Angathia and many other important buildings .

               Agricultural tourism

          With their lush and diverse vegetation, stark contrasts in the landscape and gushing waters, the two massifs that dominate the land of Imathia have a lot to offer us. The Pieria, Vermion and the river Aliakmonas that flows between them, have moulded a breathtaking natural environment in which to practice your favourite sport, go mountain climbing, hike in the forest or even stay overnight.
Small, cosy hotels have been build near special cultivations or in magnificent forests in the prefecture of Imathia, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new dishes, visit traditional wineries, small workshops and cottage industries, relax in the renowned fruit gardens and explore the verdant routes of Vermion and the Pierian mountains .
